11 April 2015, 06:39

Two elderly people have been assaulted in their Luton home.

The incident happened at approximately 9pm on Saturday (4 April) at an address in Dunstable Road, Luton.

Two men forced entry through a window and physically assaulted an elderly woman before trapping an elderly man in a room while they stole several items including two purses and some keys.

DC Victoria Cunningham said: "This is an appalling crime which has understandably left the two victims traumatised. We're urging anyone who could help us catch these dangerous offenders to get in touch with us immediately, to prevent them carrying out similar unprovoked attacks."

One of the men is described as white, late 30s, tall, of medium build, and wearing a grey flat cap. The second man is described as late 20s, approximately 5'8", stocky, and wearing a long dark jacket with a green fisherman-style hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Cunningham on 101, text 07786 200 011, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
