Heavily Pregnant Rushden Mum Attacked

A heavily pregnant woman was attacked by a teenager in Rushden who demanded her mobile phone.

The victim, who is 35 weeks pregnant, was pushing her three year old son in his buggy through the alleyway from Station Road to Carnegie Street, between midday and 12.20pm on Wednesday, 21 January.

A boy approached her and demanded she hand over her phone. When she refused, he grabbed the buggy, at which point she moved between him and her son.

He pushed the woman causing her to hit her head against the wall. He then made off towards Carnegie Street.

The victim suffered a large bump to the head and a graze to her hand.

The robber is described as 16-17 years old, 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall, slim build and wearing dark clothing.

His clothes appeared dirty and he smelt of cigarettes.
