Man Falls From Moving Van On M1

Hertfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man's fallen out of a moving van on the M1 near Hemel Hempstead.

Just before 6.40pm yesterday (Thursday 16th April), police say, for reasons unknown at this time, a passenger of a white Volkswagen panel van fell from the vehicle as it travelled southbound between junctions 9 and 8.

The driver, a 43 year-old man from Hayes, stopped the vehicle and the man, who is 44 years old and from Harrow, was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrookes hospital with serious head injuries. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information which could assist the investigation should contact PC Jackie Lister via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting Operation Den.
