Update on missing girl Katie Kelly and her daughter Kiah-Mae
Northamptonshire Police have ramped up their search for a missing young mum from Northants; last seen with her 12 week old baby daughter on Tuesday.
Detective Chief Inspector Elliot Foskett, who is leading the search for missing teenager Katie Kelly said the 15 year-old and her daughter Kiah-Mae Boyle, from Long Buckby remain missing.
Police say they were last seen in the Standens Barn area of Northampton at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
DCI Foskett said: "Before she went missing, Katie did not take any money or belongings with her, so we do not believe she planned to leave home. Today I am urging Katie to contact us and let us know where she is and that she and her baby are safe.
At this stage there is no evidence to suggest Katie or her daughter are in any immediate danger, however, it is vital that we find them as soon as possible."
Direct message to Katie
"Katie, I know you are probably scared, but I want to reassure you that we just want to make sure both you and Kiah-Mae are safe."
DCI Foskett added:
"Katie’s boyfriend Karl Boyle, aged 18, who is Kiah-Mae’s father, is also missing, however, we have no evidence to confirm at this point that they are together.
I want anyone who may have seen Katie or Kiah-Mae since Tuesday evening to contact us as a matter of urgency. We believe Katie is still in Northamptonshire, but we are keeping an open mind as to where she could be.
Katie is 5ft 7in tall and slim with long, dark brown, straight hair and green eyes. She was wearing a diamond effect bracelet and gold locket. She had black leggings on, a white T-shirt and trainers.
Our inquiries at this stage include Northamptonshire and other parts of the country."
Katie, or anyone who may know where she is, is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
