MK Driver Jailer For Killing Neighbour's Son

A driver from Milton Keynes has been jailed for two years for knocking down and killing his neighbours' 5 year-old boy on the driveway he shared with the youngster's family.

David Cowell, 42, hit Riley Ferguson when he pulled on to the drive in Milton Keynes in June 2015, Riley died four days later.

Cowell, of Deacon Place, Middleton, was found guilty of causing death by careless driving last month.

 He was jailed and disqualified from driving for five years.

Riley was sitting on the drive talking to a friend when he was hit by the car driven by Cowell on 7 June.

Inspector Graeme Hughes of Thames Valley Police, described it as a "tragic case". Cowell was convicted of causing Riley's death by a jury in September at Aylesbury Crown Court.
