Northants Cop Denies Wife's Murder
A Northamptonshire Police Officer, accused has appeared in court today and denied the murder of his wife, Jill Goldsmith.
49 year-old Adrian 'Otis' Goldsmith appeared via video link from HMP Peterborough at Northampton Crown Court this morning and denied he had murdered his 49 year-old wife Jill, at their house.
On the 26th of March this year, police were called to the property, which sits within the grounds of Northamptonshire Police's headquarters at Wootton Hall.
The body of Jill Goldsmith was found, a subsequent post-mortem examination concluded Mrs Goldsmith, had died of a head injury.
On screen, Mr Goldsmith spoke to confirm his name and enter his plea.
Today, a judge set a provisional date for a trial for 11th Jan 2016, and said it's likely to last between 2-3 weeks.
The trial is likely to be held in either Stafford or Leicester.
