Two men have been charged with murdering a convicted killer from Northamptonshire, at a high-security jail.

West Mercia Police say Russell Anthony Oliver, 46, and Stephen Boorman, 30, are due to appear before magistrates in Worcester charged with killing John York.

Mr York was pronounced dead at HMP Long Lartin, near Evesham, Worcestershire, on Sunday after an alleged incident involving other prisoners.

The 25 year-old, from Crouch Road in Irthlingborough, Northants, was jailed for life in March 2013 after being found guilty of murdering 60 year-old Glenn Clary.

York  was given a minimum term of 18 years after a jury heard that his victim was beaten to death in August 2012.
