Pair Jailed For Imprisoning Woman In Milton Keynes

Two men have been sentenced to 19 years in prison for falsely imprisoning a 34-year-old woman at a property in New Bradwell in Milton Keynes.

Two men have been sentenced to 19 years in prison for false imprisonment and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Ashley Read, aged 24, of Mothers Square in London, was sentenced to ten years in prison for false imprisonment and four years in prison for ABH, to run concurrently.

Sanjeet Singh, aged 21, of Abbey Lane in London, was sentenced to nine years in prison for false imprisonment and four years in prison for ABH, to run concurrently.

They were both sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday (3/9) after being found guilty by jury.

On 22 February 2013, Singh and Read falsely imprisoned a 34-year-old woman at a property in New Bradwell, Milton Keynes between 5pm and 9pm.

They assaulted her, causing her serious facial injuries.

Read was arrested on 7 May 2013 and charged on 11 June 2013.

Singh was arrested on 15 April 2013 and charged on 14 June 2013.

Det Con Darren Street from Force CID said: “I welcome the sentence imposed upon Read and Singh and I hope that it will help to put the victim’s mind at rest to know that the violent men responsible for her frightening ordeal are off the streets and behind bars.

“Thames Valley Police will not tolerate violence in our community and those people who commit crime can expect to be identified, investigated and dealt with robustly.”
