Pedestrian Killed In Crash In Hatfield

A man's died in a crash with a car and motorbike in Hatfield.

It happened in the early hours of yesterday at 1:05am on the A1000 Great North Road, close to French Horn Lane.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old man from the town, died at the scene.

The biker was taken to hospital with some injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.
 
Investigating officer, PC Terry Nesbitt from the Road Crash Investigation Team, said: “This is a very tragic incident and the man’s family are being supported by a specialist family liaison officer.

 “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the events leading up to the collision, or who saw the collision take place, to contact police as soon as possible. Did you see the pedestrian prior to the collision walking in the area?  If so we’d like to hear from you.”
