Missing Helen Bailey

A man from Royston's been charged with the murder of children's author Helen Bailey in April.

Ian Stewart, also from Baldock Road in Royston has further been charged with perverting the course of justice and preventing the lawful burial of Helen's body.

The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit say the charge of perverting the course of justice relates to the reporting of Helen Bailey missing to police and hiding her body.

Yesterday police confirmed Helen Bailey's body had been found at her home in Baldock Road after she'd been missing since the 11th of April.

A post-mortem examination is  due to take place on Monday - and we're told specialist searches at her home continue.

1015 am update:

Mr Stewart has appeared at Hatfield Remand Court today; and has been remanded in custody before appearing at St Albans Crown Court on Monday.
