St Albans Man Charged Over Ammo Stash

A 49 year-old St Albans man has been charged in connection with 14 firearms offences following a large scale police operation in St Albans last year.

Alan Tissington, from Windmill Avenue, was arrested on September 17, 2014, following the operation at his home address.

A number of items of were taken to a nearby field that afternoon, and safely detonated.

He's been charged him with four counts of possession of a firearm without a certificate, one count of possession of a shotgun without a certificate, two counts of possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate and seven counts of possession of prohibited ammunition.

Mr Tissington has been bailed and is due to appear at St Albans Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 4.
