Stevenage Murder - Two Remanded In Custody

Two people who were charged by detectives investigating the murder of a man in Stevenage have been remanded into custody.

Robert Crook, 57, and Katie Holmes, 43, both from Long Leaves in Stevenage, were charged with murder yesterday on Friday night and yesterday (Saturday 23rd April), appeared at Hatfield Remand court.

Both have been remanded to appear before St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday (April 26).

Officers were called to Angle Ways at 4.20am on Thursday to reports that a man had been found lying in the street. The man, Mark Altabas, 47, was taken to the Lister Hospital where he later died.

Two other people arrested in connection with the incident, a 35 year-old man and a 49 year-old man have been released on bail. A fifth person, aged 18, remains in police custody.
