Third Person Charged With Stevenage Murder

Detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, investigating the murder of a man in Stevenage on Thursday, April 21, have charged a third person with murder.

Officers were called to Angle Ways at 4.20am to reports a man had been found lying in the street. The victim, 47 year old Mark Altabas, was taken to the Lister Hospital where he sadly later died. He had been stabbed.

Last night (April 25) 18 year old Destao Pedro, who is 18 years old and from Forest Road in Walthamstow, was charged with murder. He is due before Hatfield Remand Court today.

Two other people, Robert Crook, aged 57, and Katie Holmes, aged 43, both from Long Leaves in Stevenage, are also charged with murder and are also due before St Albans Crown Court today.

Two other people arrested in connection with the incident, a 35-year-old man and a 49-year-old man have been released on bail.
