Rush-hour delays impacted train customers on West Coast Main Line after an incident at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, today.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “Delays and cancellations affected train passengers travelling between London Euston and Milton Keynes after a train struck a person at 6.40am on the West Coast Main Line at Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire.
“The incident resulted in the temporary suspension of all passenger services, with knock-on delays felt further north in Birmingham, Stafford, Crewe, Manchester and Liverpool. Trains began moving slowly past the scene of the incident shortly before 8am.
“Emergency services and Network Rail staff, who arrived on site shortly before 7am, are now working to get things back to normal for customers as soon as possible.”
