Wife's Ashes Stolen From A Front Garden
Police have issued an appeal after a man had the ashes of his late wife stolen in Yielden.
A cast iron urn and plinth were stolen from the front garden of a house in the High Street, at some point between 4pm on Friday (13 March) and 10.30am on Saturday (14 March). Inside the urn was a box containing ashes.
Karen Mallett, investigating the case, said:
"Obviously this is incredibly distressing for the victim and we're issuing a direct appeal to the people who took the urn to return the ashes. They may not have realised what was inside the urn and it would mean a lot to the man if they could be returned to a local police station.
We're also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the urn being move during that time frame, or who saw any suspicious activity in Yielden at all, to contact us immediately."
