A woman's come forward to police in Milton Keynes and told them she's been raped.
The victim, who's in her 30s, told police it happened at around 4am on Monday 4 April when she was walking in Conniburrow Boulevard from the direction of Bradwell Common towards Downs Barn.
Police say she told them she'd walked through an alleyway near a park off Yarrow Place when she noticed a man following her. He then assaulted her and raped her in the open grassed area in between the houses located between Yarrow Place, Conniburrow Boulevard and Ramsons Avenue. The offender then left the scene.
The offender is white, aged in his thirties, taller than 6ft 2ins and of average build. He was wearing a black jacket, a dark-coloured beanie-style hat, and a hood covering the hat.
The incident was reported to police on Tuesday (12th April).
Det Insp Ian Jarvis, from Milton Keynes Force CID, said:
"Detectives are working to establish the circumstances of this serious incident in which a woman was raped. The victim is currently being supported by specially trained officers.
We would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone with any information or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around 4am on Monday 4 April.
House to house enquiries are ongoing and patrols are taking place in the area. Anyone with any concerns or any information can approach and speak to an officer in the area or call 101 to speak to the neighbourhood team."
