Attempted armed robbery

Police are looking for witnesses to an attempted armed robbery in Cheltenham.

A man went into Waitrose Petrol Station on Honeybourne Way at around 3.20pm on Wednesday carrying a knife.

He shouted for the till to be opened but when staff told him they weren’t able to do this he left the shop towards the upper level of the Waitrose car park. 

Chelt armed robberyHe was described as white, around 5ft 10” to 6ft tall, of slim build and in his early twenties. He was wearing dark clothes, a black leather jacket and a hooded top. The hood on his top was up and his face was covered. 

A knife was recovered a short distance away from the petrol station.

No one was injured in the incident.
