Listen to what Paul Tapner said about his win...

After a record turnout from spectators for the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, organisers are touting 2010 as one of the best years ever.

In true Badminton style the wellies had to come out halfway through the weekend, but some glorious sunshine on the final day dried things out perfectly for some amazing performances from some of the best riders in the world.

The event really does put Gloucestershire on the map as host to such an enormous and well supported sporting occasion.

Our very own Daisy Berkeley came in at third place on "Springalong".

Heart's Kate Justice spoke to her moments after she picked up her trophy:

In second place was German rider Andreas Dibowski on "Euroridings Butts Leon".

And the winner was Paul Tapner riding "Inonothing".  Paul is originally from Australia, but has spent more than a decade based in the UK and now lives in Wiltshire with his English wife Georgina and their two children.

Georgina also grooms for Paul and admitted to a somewhat stressful weekend, but with more than worthwhile results:

Winning Badminton seems to be on the must achieve list for just about every serious Eventer in the world.

Kate Justice asked 2010 winner Paul Tapner his feelings now his name is on the world famous trophy:
