Gloucestershire Police have confirmed a 15 year old boy who was found hanging from a tree in Robert Burns Avenue, Cheltenham on Thursday 21st May, tragically passed away on Sunday (24th May).
He died in Bristol Children's Hospital with his family at his bedside.
He has been named as Adam Tharia, from Cheltenham. The Coroner has been informed.
Police have appointed a Family Liaison Officer and are working with Adam's family to provide every possible support.
Police say: "Although officers are not treating his death as suspicious, we would appeal for anyone with information which may be of help, to contact police without delay on 101, quoting Incident 345 of 21st May. It is vital that any information available is communicated directly to the police and not circulated among third parties. Police would ask everyone to avoid speculation about the circumstances of the death and to remain sensitive towards the family.
"The Police and Adam's immediate family are grateful for the support of their friends and family. Adam's family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this very difficult time."
Adam's family said: "Adam was a wonderful son and brother. We will always love him and will miss him so very much."
