Cricket is returning to Gloucester, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club have confirmed they will play two fixtures in the city this season.

t20 Gloucester will take place on Friday 11th and Sunday 13th June at the Kings School, the Friends Provident t20 matches will see the Gladiators take on the Sussex Sharks and Kent Spitfires.

GCCC have been working closely with Gloucester City Council to secure funding to bring cricket back to the city, having scrapped four-day matches there for the 2009 season.

GCCC Chief Executive, Tom Richardson says:

“Historically it has always been important to Gloucestershire cricket that we take the show on the road. What is really exciting this year is that we have a whole new format for Gloucester. T20 cricket is a significant part of the domestic programme. This form of cricket has really captured the imagination of the next generation of supporters; families and young people both male and female alike and we are very confident that Gloucester will be a terrific venue for it. We are very grateful to the City Council, the Kings School, Marketing Gloucester and Richard Graham for all their support.”

Tickets will be available to purchase from 1st April 2010.
