Cyclist seriously injured in Ashchurch

Police investigating a road traffic collision on the A46 in which a cyclist was seriously injured are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The collision happened at approximately 1.30pm om Sunday August 12, at Aston Cross, Ashchurch, outside the Queens Head Public House and involved a silver Range Rover towing a caravan and a pedal cyclist.

The cyclist, a 53-year-old man from Cheltenham, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham where he remains in a stable condition.

A 61-year-old man from Evesham was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the incident. He has been bailed to return to the police station on November 21, pending further inquiries.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision that hasn't yet spoken to officers to ring 101 and quote incident number 244 of August 12.
