Flood reassurances

Gloucestershire County Council wants reassurances over promised funding for flood prevention work.

Councilors have written to the Government asking them if they will keep to a pledge to fund a number of Environment Agency schemes in the county.

The money will pay for five projects in Lydney, Daniels Brook in Quedgeley, Slad brook in Stroud, Horsbere Brook in Longlevens and Prestbury.

The move comes three years on from the major floods in Gloucestershire, which left hundreds homeless and thousands without electricty and water.
