Parents and children warned about online dangers

Gloucestershire Police are raising awareness amongst parents about how to keep children safe when they're online.

The message is simple - 'Where are your kids tonight?'  Police warn that although they may be physically in their bedroom on the computer... if they're online - they could be anywhere - in cyber space.

We spoke to Sergeant John Skilling from the 'schools unit', who ran through a list of ways we can help keep our children safe and some of the things we should look out for.

He also had some advice for young people themselves:

"If you wouldn't tell a stranger, don't post it online, if you wouldn't do it in the real world, don't do it online, never arrange to meet online friends in the real world and if something nasty is happening to you, tell somebody about it."
