Man with pole robs service station

Police have been using a search dog to track down a man, who robbed a service station in the Forest on Wednesday night, brandishing a metal pole.

It happened on Newent Road in Brierley near Drybrook, not long before 6.30pm. 

Police say he demanded money from the till before grabbing around £70 from the staff and running away. 

Officers made a thorough search of the area but the offender could not be traced.

He is described as a white, about 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, of medium build, and was wearing a black hoody, black trousers and a scarf or snood covering his face.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or with any information about this crime should call the new non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 360 of February 22nd.
