More children taken in care

Heart has been told the number of children in care in South West is now at a critical level.

There is a desperate need for new foster carers to look after the children and the rise is being put down to social services being more cautious after the death of Baby Peter.

Miranda Shoyer is from Pathway Care, who work with all the authorities in Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire to find foster carers, she told Heart why so many children are going into care:
