Gloucestershire: Schools Affected By Teachers Strike

School Closed

Members of two teaching unions are going on strike here in Gloucestershire on Thursday October 17th in a move which is likely to affect thousands of pupils.

The campaign by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the NASUWT is in protest about Government education reforms.

The Government has condemned the unions' rolling campaign of walkouts and said it is disruptive to pupils' education, while Unions say that teachers are "angry, frustrated and concerned" about the reforms.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE SCHOOLS:

Stroud: 

Archway School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to students. Open to 6th form students only. 

Avening Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. Only one class - Yr 5/6 will be open. 

Bisley Blue Coat C of E Primary School: On Thurs 17 Oct 13 the school will close 2 out of 3 classes. Class 1 and Class 2 will close. Class 3 will remain open 

Brimscombe C of E Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be closed to all pupils. 

Callowell Primary School: On Thurs 17 Oct 13 Reception, Year 2 & Year 3 will be closed; all other year groups will run as normal. 

Cam Everlands Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. Reception and Year 1 classes will be closed. All other classes will be open. 

Cam Woodfield Infant School: On Thurs 17 Oct 13 Fox & Squirrel classes will be closed due to industrial action. Mole, Badger, Hedgehog & Owl classes will open as usual 

Cam Woodfield Junior School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. Willow, Oak and Rowan classes will be OPEN. 

Gastrells Community Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. We wil be open to Owls, Sparrowhawks, Goshawks and Merlins classes and closed to Eagles, Ospreys and Peregrines. 

Hardwicke Parochial Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. YR, Y2, Y3 and Y5 (8 classes) will be closed for the day. Y1, Y4 and Y6 (6 classes) will be open. A letter to parents explaining arrangements on school website. 

Haresfield C of E Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be closed to all pupils. 

Katharine Lady Berkeley's School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to students. Year 12/13 students will be able to come in to school to make use of the study and other facilities. 

Maidenhill School: On Thurs 17 October 2013 school will be partially closed to students. Year 11 students only should attend as usual. 

Marling School : On Thurs 17th Oct school will be closed to all students.

Abbeymead Primary School: On Thurs 17 Oct 13 the school will be closed to all pupils. 

Barnwood C of E Primary School: On Thurs 17 Oct 13 the school will be closed to all pupils 

Barnwood Park Arts College: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed. Open to Year 11 students. Year 10 college students should still attend college that day, but otherwise, work will be set for all remaining students. 

Beaufort Co-operative Academy: On Thurs 17 Oct 13 school will be open to Years 11, 12 and 13 only. Closed to all other years. 

Beech Green Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. Class 6 will be closed to pupils all day. Class J2 will be closed in the afternoon, children should be collected at 1.15pm. The other 12 classes will operate as normal. 

Calton Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. Purple and Green classes (Year 2) will be closed. All other years will be open as normal. 

Dinglewell Junior School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be closed to all pupils

High School for Girls, Gloucester: On Thurs 17 Oct 13 the school will be open to Years 11, 12 & 13. Years 7, 8, 9 & 10 will be closed. 

Kingsholm C of E Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. Please refer to your school letter for details of specific open/closed classes. 

Kingsway Primary School: It is highly likely that the school will be fully open. However, the school gates will not open before 8.45am and will close promptly at 3.20pm (5 mins after the end of school). There will be no after school clubs or Breakfast Club running on the day. Parents should ensure that they have childcare in place should the situation change. Text alerts will keep parents informed throughout. 

Linden Primary School: On Thurs 17th Oct school will be partially closed to pupils. All Reception and Year 4 classes will be closed. The following classes are also closed - Class 5(Y1), Class 7(Y2), Class 9(Y3), Class 12 (Y5) and Class 14 (Y6).
