Youth Offending Service Improves Again

Gloucestershire's Youth Offending Service has been given the thumbs up by inspectors.

73% of the youngsters they questioned told them that their lives had improved because of the service and 81% said they were now less likely to reoffend.

Gloucestershire's results were some of the best in England, with 76% of all cases achieving acceptable levels of safeguarding, 75% of cases being dealt with well enough in reducing reoffending and 70% of cases being dealt with well enough in reducing the youngsters' risk of harm to others. All of these results were well above the national averages for these areas.
