Essex police are putting up posters in Harlow to try to jog people's memories two weeks after a woman was raped in the town.

Essex police are putting up posters in Harlow to try to jog people's memories two weeks after a woman was raped in the town.

The victim had left the nearby Chequers pub shortly after 11:30pm on Friday, December 30th and was walking home when she was sexually assaulted.

Senior Investigating Officer, DI Martin Pasmore, said: "We have two points of appeal. The first one being to any customers at the pub who saw this woman inside and then leave, and the second appeal is to anyone who saw the assault."

The offender is described as white, of chubby build, has a close-shaved head and was sporting black stubble near his mouth at the time of the attack.

The 23-year-old local woman is now recovering with friends and family.
