Heart Loves Ronald McDonald House Charities

This week, we're loving the great work this charity do by providing a home away from home for families with children in hospital.

Hospitals can be scary places without mum and dad, that’s why Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free family accommodation near specialist children's wards across the UK. So, if your child falls ill, your family can all be together.

There are currently 15 Ronald McDonald Houses and over 25 sets of Family Rooms across the UK. Together, they provide more than 450 rooms for families every night of the year.

Many families travel miles from home so that their child can receive expert medical care. Often, children have to remain in hospital for months at a time, so for the families, staying close by can be a struggle.

Without a local Ronald McDonald House, many parents have to sleep on chairs or pull-down beds by their child’s bed or pay a lot of money for hotels.

Ronald McDonald House Charities allow families to stay just a stone’s throw from the children’s ward for as long as they need to - whether it’s for two nights or two years.
