You can re-live the most exciting times in the Castle's history brought to life through exciting immersive experiences, interactive events and activities plus a cast of lively and colourful costumed characters and highlights of the Castle this autumn include:

Operation Dynamo & Underground War

Tour the Secret Wartime Tunnels deep within the White Cliffs and see where 700 military personnel worked during World War II. Find out more on the Operation Dynamo link. 

Listen to the sound of an air raid and the voices of the men and women going about their work. The tour also takes you through the Underground Hospital with its operating theatre and wards.

The Middle Ages in Technicolour  

Totally transformed, the Great Tower transports you back to the medieval court of Henry II. Journey through three floors from the incredibly opulent King's chambers right down to the huge Kitchen.

The colourful characters that once walked here are brought to life through a mix of technology and costumed actors. Plus there's an interactive exhibition telling the story of the Great Tower.

Plus there's a network of medieval tunnels, a Roman lighthouse and a Saxon church to discover as the as the castle battlements to explore.  

There's a choice of cafes and restaurants serving delicious hot & cold food from full lunches to sandwiches and yummy afternoon teas. A land train runs around the site making access to all areas of the Castle easy for everyone.
