Appeal After Woman Dies In A249 Crash

Investigators are appealing for witnesses after a woman died following a collision near Stockbury.

The collision was reported to Kent Police at 6.33am on Tuesday 24 April 2018. It took place on the Maidstone bound carriageway of the A249,  at the junction with Oad Street and involved a red Vauxhall Insignia and a white Ford Fiesta.

Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the collision and the driver of the Fiesta, a woman in her 60s from the Sittingbourne area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for any witnesses to contact them. Anyone who has yet to speak to police or who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 01622 798538.
