Ashford Hairdresser Murder

A former police officer has appeared in court, accused of murdering his estranged wife in Ashford.

Ivan Esack, of Rosewood Avenue in Ashford, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during a five minute hearing at Canterbury Magistrates' Court.

He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Maidstone Crown court tomorrow.

The 38 year old, who worked for Kent police until 2010, was charged last night with murdering 33-year-old Natalie Esack who was found at her hairdressing salon, Esack Hair and Beauty on Monday morning.

A post-mortem examination found she died from multiple stab wounds.
