The family of a woman who was killed in Broadstairs last week have released a tribute to her saying she was "the kindest, sweetest human being".

Anne-Marie Birch, 47, was found badly injured at a house in Whiteness Road just after 1.30pm on Thursday 7 November.

Police and ambulance crews attended but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a joint statement, her family said: "Anne-Marie was a much-loved and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

"Her sudden death has been a devastating shock to us all and we ask for your respect in allowing us our time and space to grieve over our loss.

"For those who ever knew or met Anne-Marie would know how she was the kindest, sweetest human being and will be sadly missed by us all."

Officers investigating Anne-Marie’s death have arrested and charged Lee Vincent Paul Birch, aged 55, of Lymington Road, Westgate-on-Sea, with murder.
