A major new museum at The Historic Dockyard in Chatham opens this weekend and is promising to show-off previously unseen artifacts and nationally important art.

It's cost £13 million to put together No.1 Smithery which is a joint project between the dockyard, National Maritime Museum and Imperial War Museum.

The space will be used to display collections from the two museums along with The Historic Dockyard's own - it will also be used as an exhibition venue for travelling national and international collections.

Heart's been told that during 2011 there will be an exciting and regularly changing touring exhibition programme and a range of interactive activities for children.
