A controlled explosion has been carried out on a suspicious package at an industrial estate in Aylesford.

Police were called to Quarry Wood industrial and retail park just after 8.10am this morning after workers found the package near to recycling bins in the car park of Sainsbury's.

The Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team carried out a controlled explosion and more tests will now be carried out to find out what the package was.

Several roads leading from the A20 were closed while a cordon was put in place around the scene.
