Couple In Court Over Kent Baby Death

A man and woman have appeared in court following the death of their three-week-old child in Tonbridge

Michael Osbourne, 22, of Bybrook Road, Ashford, Kent, and Marina Smythe, 20, of Oxford Gardens, Maidstone, Kent, are both accused of causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm.

Paramedics and an air ambulance were scrambled to the family home in December 2016 but the child, named in court documents as Bailey Smyth-Osborne, could not be revived.

Osbourne and Smythe - who appeared in court separately - have been bailed on the condition that they are not to have unsupervised contact with any child.They are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 17.
