Crowds Turn Out for World Cup Games

Heart's been told hundreds watched England's game on big screens in Chatham and Dover

Around 500 people gathered to watch the screening of England's first World Cup game against the USA on Saturday that ended 1-1.

The Big Screen in Dover's Market Square is showing live games including England's next games against Algeria on Friday (18th June).

The people in charge of the screen have told us they're making sure that appropriate safety precautions are in place:

"In order to ensure that the matches are a fun event for all families, the area around the Big Screen remains a restricted area for drinking alcohol outside of licensed premises.  Agencies stress that anyone wishing to watch the matches on the Big Screen should not bring alcohol with them, and there are discretionary powers to confiscate alcohol if necessary."

In Chatham - 900 people watched the match at the World Cup Club on Saturday. The screen is situated at Dickens World in Chatham Maritime.
