DIY Store Fire
A big fire at a DIY store in Gravesend is being treated as suspicious.
At its height around 50 firefighters were battling the flames which broke out at the Start to Finish shop in Wrotham Road at about 8.30pm yesterday.
No one was injured but people living in flats above the shop were evacuated along with other residents in surrounding properties. The Bat and Ball Cricket Ground pavilion was turned into a temporary shelter until they could return to their homes.
Fire crews say the building has been left badly damaged and the roof has caved in.
It is reported the shop was due to reopen on Monday after being closed because of a previous fire.
