Girl Asked to Get in Van for Money

Police have given Heart an e-fit and description of a man they want to speak to after a girl says she was asked to get into a van for money.

It happened as the 10 year-old walked along Coombe Valley Road in Dover at about 1.30pm on Saturday 24th April.

The man got out of a small white van which had pulled up and parked in front of her.

The girl ran home and told her family what had happened.

The man is described as:

• white but with a well-tanned appearance
• 6ft tall
• of chubby build
• 45 to 50 years old
• with white short hair
• was wearing a light green jacket, blue jeans
• spoke with a local accent

Police believe this was an isolated incident but say parents should remind children about not talking to strangers.
