Man Dies after A20 Lorry Smash

Man dies after 2 lorries crashed and burst into flames on the A20 on Thursday afternoon

Emergency services were called to a collision on the A20 near the Capel le Ferne roundabout yesterday (Thursday 10 June).

Officers were called to the collision at 1536 yesterday which involved two foreign registered heavy goods vehicles on the Londonbound carriageway. Both vehicles caught alight.  60 firefighters from all over East Kent and South East Coast Ambulance also attended the incident. Two people were taken to the William Harvey Hospital.  A 54 year old man died from his injuries in the early hours of this morning. A second man remains in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The Londonbound and coastbound carriageway was closed until 0351 this morning (Friday 11 June) to allow emergency services to attend and repairs made to the central reservation.
