International Fights From Manston

International airline KLM has started twice daily return flights from Manston to Amsterdam Schiphol.

The earliest flight of the day departs from Manston at 6.30am, with the last one back from Amsterdam leaving there at 8.50pm.

The route is being served by Fokker 70 aircraft, which can seat up to 80 passengers.

KLM's hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is consistently voted one of Europe's best business airports and was voted Best Airport in Europe at the 2012 Business Traveller magazine awards. It is the fifth biggest in Europe and handles nearly 50 million passengers a year.

KLM alone has flights coming into Schiphol from more than 130 destinations in North and South America, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Africa and Europe.

Manston chief executive Charles Buchanan said: "The start of the KLM service marks the next exciting chapter in the airport's history.

"For the first time it connects Kent residents and businesses with the world through a global hub thanks to a national flag carrier airline.''

The new service has created more than 30 new jobs at the airport.
