Kent Covered In Snow

Kent is still covered in a blanket of the white stuff today with forecasters saying it is likely to stay through the day.

Temperatures stayed around freezing overnight, and are not expected to get much above 1c or 2c today and tomorrow meaning there was no big melt or big freeze.

Gritters have been out through the weekend and this morning to make sure Kent's main roads and major routes are clear but drivers and pedestrians are being warned to take care on smaller untreated roads, streets and on pavements.

On the trains, there was minor disruption to some Southeastern routes this morning, despite engineers working to clear and repair the lines.

Arriva buses says the vast majority of its routes are running normally, ferries from Dover and Eurotunnel services are also operating a full service.

The snow has led to around 20 schools being closed or part closed.
