A teenager walked into the Foord post office in Black Bull Road at about 5pm and threatened staff with a machete before escaping with a cash box.

The raider ran off towards the rear of the sports centre in Radnor Park. No-one was injured and officers have since recovered the weapon. Police have told Heart the teenager cycled to the post office but then dumped the silver and black Carrera bike.

He is described as white in his late teens, around 5’11’ tall, slim build, with dark brown hair. He was wearing a distinctive black scarf with a grey/white stripe wrapped around his face and a black jacket.

Detectives are keen to speak with anyone who may have recently sold a machete knife to a teenager matching the gunman's description, as the weapon appears to be new. The machete is described as two-feet long and unscratched with a black plastic handle.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the armed raider or who may have additional information to contact them on 01622 690690 quoting cad log 21-0983 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
