Man Jailed For Child Sex Offences

A man from Margate has been jailed for 16 years for a series of sex offences involving children.

Twenty-six-year old James McCaw, from Trinity Square in the town, was found guilty at Canterbury Crown Court of attempted rape, rape, assault of a child, sexual assault of a child and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The attacks were carried out between 2007 and 2008.

Detective Constable Jennifer Brightman said: "We are pleased McCaw is now in prison after committing these terrible crimes and urge anyone who has ever been the victim of an unreported sexual offence to contact us.

"Kent Police will always be sensitive when investigating incidents like this and will do everything possible to protect children."
