Police think a missing Polish man might have been injured in an assault in the Cliftonville area of Margate.

Radoslaw Ostatek, 34, hasn't been in touch with his friends since early yesterday morning (Monday 12th), although there was a possible sighting of him in Northdown Road at 3.25pm.

A member of the public got in contact with police to report that an assault had taken place in a house, but the victim was no longer there when they arrived.

Det Sgt John Beggs said: “We are concerned for the welfare of Mr Ostatek. It was reported that a serious assault had taken place and we need to confirm that Mr Ostatek is not in need of hospital treatment.”

He is described as 5ft 7ins tall, slim build, with some facial hair and wearing a blue Regatta jacket, black hat and pale blue jeans and light brown shoes.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Mr Ostatek is urged to contact Det Sgt Beggs on 01843 222064 or call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
