Serious Crime Directorate 'a success'

Kent Police say new crime fighting team with Essex Police is already a success

We've been catching up with Kent Police about the Serious Crime Directorate which is a a joint effort with Essex Police to fight crime in the south east.

Officers say they've already detected 60 crimes since it was launched at the start of the summer and a number of people have been sent to prison.

Officers say the Dartford Crossing is a good place to catch criminals as they need to pass through the toll booths to get from one county to the other.  Surveillance operations using Automatic Number Plate Recognition Technology is also used.
