Teens Arrested Over Beach Hut Break-Ins

Arrests have been made following a number of reports of beach hut burglaries in the New Romney area.

Between 4.30pm on 9 July and 10am on 11 July, reports were received that several beach huts had been broken into in Coast Drive, Greatstone.

Police enquiries are ongoing to confirm how many huts were affected and whether anything was reported missing.

Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the early hours of 11 July in the area. 

Officers attended the scene and arrested five teenagers on suspicion of burglary.

A 15-year-old boy from Folkestone was released on police bail until 17 August pending further enquiries. 

A 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl all from the Shepway area were all arrested and released on street bail to attend the police station at a later date.
