Thanet: Drugs Weapons Found

Police investigating reports of drug dealing in Thanet have recovered a taser, knuckleduster and kitchen knife.

Officers from Thanet Community Policing Team were on duty in Birchington during the afternoon of Wednesday 11 January, following a report of drug use in the area.

Three people spotted on a footpath near to Canterbury Road, tried to run away, but were stopped and searched. Two of them were arrested.

Officers found a number of small bags of cannabis as well as a two weapons.

A further search was carried at an address in Margate and police found a quantity of cannabis and a taser inside the seat of a scooter.

A 16-year-old boy from Margate was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and weapon offences.

He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
