Train Passengers Rescued

A Hundred Passengers stuck on a Train to Ashford from London Victoria in Rush Hour last night had to be rescued after freezing temperatures and ice disrupted the service.

Southeastern Trains have spoken to Heart

Here is their Statement.

“Last night’s evening rush hour was disrupted by a heavy fall of snow and freezing rain which caused significant delays and cancellations.

“One train became stuck on ice in between Kemsing and Otford around 9pm and was unable to move for several hours. We worked with Network Rail try and get the train moving again – and tried several things to get the train running. But ultimately we needed to arrange for people to walk to a ‘rescue’ train to take them to a station.

“Buses and taxis were arranged to take them home, although this proved difficult too because of road conditions

“We’re sorry these passengers had such a long and difficult journey home and thank them for their patience and kind words of praise about the onboard conductor and driver.”
