A 53-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, was found outside the town's station in Vale Road at about 5.30pm on Thursday, Kent Police said.

He was flown by air ambulance to a London hospital where he was treated for a stab wound and remains in a stable condition, a spokeswoman said.

He appeared at Maidstone Magistrates' Court today and was remanded in custody.

Brown will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on August 6.

A 30-year-old woman from Southborough, Kent, and a 23-year-old man from East Grinstead, West Sussex, who were both arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Thursday night have been released without charge, police said.
